We Are Nature

Most people reading this know I was on a love show called Pop the Balloon in 2024. On the show, I mentioned loving nature and received a lot of ambiguity about my connection to it.

As I reflected today, I wrote down why nature changed my life and how it shaped the man you see today.

First, I’ll say that nature on its own can do wonderful things, but self-awareness and empathy are also needed to see the best results.

1. We are nature.
My mind can be quite active, as is common in these times we’re living in. However, when you walk in nature, it allows you to release the problems in your head. Nature has a way of hugging you mentally, touching your inner child, and feeding your soul. It does this by simply existing. Without nature, we do not exist—we rely on it completely. But it’s the awareness of nature’s abilities that will set you mentally free when you’re immersed in it. Nature undresses you before you can say hello. If you can accept its power, you will reap its benefits.

2. A blade of grass with thoughts.
Humans are nature, but we also have thoughts and emotions. Imagine if you could hear the wind, understand the trees, and connect with animals. We can—but it takes time. We fear nature because of its unpredictability. Too many bugs, itchy grass, and allergies still haven’t kept me away, because just like nature, I have flaws too.

3. Nature does not judge.
Have you ever wanted to sing, dance, or scream but felt judged? Nature teaches you not to feel that way. We should be able to express ourselves without wondering, Am I doing this right? What does “right” even mean? You are unique, creative, and innovative. Why worry about what others think when nature accepts you as you are?

4. Inner child, unleashed.
There is a realm of life we experience as kids—it’s called curiosity. Curiosity is essential for expanding the mind. Nature creates that curiosity because nothing is ever the same. It follows its own patterns, unapologetically, reminding us we can’t control it because we are part of it. Our daily actions and reactions are tied to nature—full moons and sunshine can shift temperaments and spark emotion. Reconnecting with your inner child allows you to better understand nature, and curiosity is the gateway to embracing new realms of life.

5. Last but not least.
That phrase itself is the message—“last but not least.” That’s how people often treat nature, as if it isn’t truly our home. But everything is nature. The sooner you understand that, the better your time here will be. Respect it, honor it, and when you humble yourself before it, you are also choosing to love yoursel
